Why should you not leave your kids alone in the car?
In the past, there have been different cases where over hundred young children died of the heat stroke when they got trapped in the car. According to a survey it was revealed that these accidents occurred by the negligence of the parents when they left their child in the parked car or the kids got an easy access into the car and could not make it out of the car. This is considered to be a major public health matter and should not be avoided.
You might wrongly think that you can leave your child in the car and can return quickly, but you don’t realize that an accident can take place in matter of minutes. Small children are more prone to the heat as compared to the adults and the reason is that the child’s body temperature increase three times quicker than a normal adult. This can also lead to a number of injuries or can even result in the death.
According to a research, it was concluded that a dark SUV gets heated up in fifteen minutes and even a normal white colored sedan reaches to a hundred degrees in forty minutes. As parents, you can take following safety measures-
* You should never leave your child in your vehicle and you should not leave any of the door windows open. On sunny days the temperature in the car can really increase in matter of minutes.
* You must educate your child that he/she should not play in and around the cars.
* You must keep the doors of your car locked even while at home. It would be better that you keep the keys of the car out of your child’s reach. Don’t let the situation arise when your child would secretly sneak in the car and you are not aware of this fact.
* You should always carry an extra key of your car just in case your child gets locked in the car.
* Stay cautious whenever your child is playing near the vehicles especially when you are out camping. Make sure that you check that your child is out of the car when you have reached you destination. Take extra care when your child is sleeping.
* When you are leaving your child in the car on a sunny day then make sure that the seats of the car and the belt equipment are not over heated.
* Make necessary safety measures whenever you are traveling with your child.
It is very important that you follow the above mentioned points to avoid any tragedy the next time with your child in the car.
