Does depression has to be a part of your life

Depression, in one form or another, occurs to almost everyone at some point of life, but that does not mean it has to be a part of your life. One major phase when depression actually becomes part of our life is when we let it sink in, maybe by ignoring our friends, family members and loved ones by overlooking small occasions of celebration and getting together, avoiding it all in the name of a busy routine.

Given below are some of the ways in which depression affects our life:

* Depression has an adverse effect on the human body resulting into illness like sleeping disorder, loss of appetite and over exhaustion.

* Depression can really hinder the way you live your normal life and can stop you from enjoying every moment.

* You no longer feel an urge to fulfill your physical/sexual needs.

* There are radical changes in the behavior as you tend to feel hopeless, sad and start generating a feeling that there is nothing left in this world.

* When you are depressed you don’t seem to be very keen in making new relationships.

* You tend to make useless excuses for not going out with your friends and dear ones.

* Depression makes you to stay away alone rather than going out or spending time with your loved ones. You tend to ignore social gatherings.

* You want to stay alone and don’t want to share your feelings with anybody else.

* You become impulsive, susceptible and selfish. You are not at all concerned about others as well as fail to recognize the efforts put in by your partner or friend in making you happy.

* No matter what is the reason behind your breakup you will blame yourself for it. You feel like that nobody wants to be with you and you are all alone in the whole wide world.

* Depression makes it difficult to concentrate and focus on work and daily activities, thus affecting the performance.

* Depression will make you look ugly as you will not change your regular clothing, not shave and you will avoid your daily work out.

* Depression affects the decision making skills, affects your thinking process and concentration level.

* It can lead you towards excessive drinking and drugs just to avoid pain.

* You are not able to keep track of the things and events that have taken place in your life.

* Depression affects your eating habits. You don’t eat much and you are not able to judge the taste.

* You will be having difficulty in sleeping and staying up will not be easy for you.

The best way to stop depression from becoming a part of your life is to believe in yourself, to opt for a treatment and help from closed ones as well as to keep your self busy to feel encouraged and positive.
