Why is it important to be a prepared parent?

Being a parent is never easy especially when the kids are really young and need round the clock attention. It is more important to be planned and prepared, if you are someone who has become parent for the very first time.

Have you ever been in a situation where you locked yourself out of your car with your keys inside, along with your 5 months old baby sleeping in the back seat? Often, parents tend to become careless in simple things that they don’t even think could cause them a trouble. Leaving baby diaper bag at home is another such example.

With toddlers and kids around life need more attention and preparation than it ever did. Children can get sick even at the time or place least expected and when that happens you cant find everything in the tip of your finger, unless you were already prepared.

Being prepared in simple definition is to have a plan for very possible problem or situation, such as to have a baby diaper bag all the time, to carry essential medications, to have extra car or home key in the bag and to have emergency phone numbers stored in your phone. So next time your child gets ill in an unexpected place, like train, picnic, party, movie hall or long car journey, you have the needed medications to help him feel better. Being prepared will also help you when you have locked yourself out of your car or apartment with your toddler inside crying for you.

Babies are not the only ones who need that special planning; even children are grown up enough to go school, open locked car door room live without diapers need attention. Accidents can happen anytime and that’s when you need a plan. Your kid can miss his school bus while coming back from school, you can fall and hurt your ankle badly or you end up with a flat tire on way to your kid’s school, these are some of the situations when you need someone else to take the charge of your kid. Being prepared here means to have phone numbers of people you can call to deal with such emergencies. Having numbers of dependable friends or family members is a major backup plan and always helps. If possible teach your kid a few phone numbers, as this helps them to call for help when you are not reachable or unable to help in situation when you are the one who is hurt.

Being prepared not just saves the time and energy for solving a situation; it also keeps parents stress free and away from constant worry of something going wrong.
